Transportation Options

Anchorage-Valdez Flight

The simplest way to reach Valdez is by taking a short 45-minute flight from Anchorage. You can visit the Ravn Air website to make reservations and check the flight schedule, as they typically operate two flights per day. Flying to Valdez not only offers the advantage of speed but also provides an unforgettable view of the Chugach Mountains and Prince William Sound.

Anchorage-Valdez Drive

To reach Valdez from Anchorage, you can take a scenic 300-mile drive that takes about 5 to 6 hours. Start by driving north to Palmer, then turn right onto the Glenn Highway. When you reach Glennallen, turn right again onto the Richardson Highway. Once you arrive in Valdez, take a left onto Meals Drive and then another left onto North Harbor Drive. Our shop is the third building on the left. This drive offers spectacular views and the opportunity to explore various attractions along the way.

Anchorage-Whittier by Train; Whittier-Valdez by Ferry

If you're interested in a sightseeing combination, consider taking the Alaska Railroad train from Anchorage to Whittier, and then boarding the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry from Whittier to Valdez. For schedule and fare information, visit the Alaska Marine Highway website. This option offers beautiful scenery and is comparable in cost to flying. Please note that there are no bus or train services to Valdez. Occasionally, you can hire a van from Pangaea Adventures for a pickup in Anchorage, but their availability may vary. Feel free to call and inquire about their services!
